Guidelines for passengers of Emirates applying for a Tourist Visa / 96 Hours Visa to
Dubai.
Who can apply through DVPC for a Dubai visa?
This new visa application facility is meant for Sri Lankan citizens resident in
Sri Lanka planning to visit Dubai for a stay of up to 30 days, and flying in
and out of Dubai on Emirates.
What are the advantages of having your application for a Tourist Visa / 96 Hours
Visa sponsored by Emirates?

You do not have to locate a sponsor in Dubai.

Subject to your papers being in order, your Tourist Visa / 96 Hours
Visa can get authorised in just three working days.

For a Tourist Visa / 96 Hours Visa, you get an electronic Visa Control Number.
This means that on arrival at Dubai Airport, you do not have to queue up at the
visa Delivery Counter to collect a paper visa. Instead, you proceed straight to
Immigration where you are rapidly processed through by reference to your Visa
Control Number.
How do I apply for a Tourist Visa or 96 Hours Visa with Emirates as Sponsor at
Dubai Visa Application Centre?
A visa application pack consisting of the following documents have to be
submitted at the Dubai Visa Application Centre

Visa Application Form duly completed and signed (blank forms are available at
offices of the Emirates and Dubai Visa Application Centre)- 2 Forms are
required in case of passengers going beyond Dubai and requiring visas on both
outbound and inbound sectors

Passport which should be valid for at least 6 months

Emirates return or onward ticket with passport number endorsed- for 4 Days'
visa applications, entry and exit sectors must be confirmed. Wait listed
tickets, on return sector only, are accepted for Visit Visa applications.
Please provide original and a photocopy of the ticket.

"VALID ON EK OPERATED FLIGHTS ONLY" to be endorsed on the ticket.

Supporting documentation- as per Eligibility conditions, along with photocopies
thereof

Demand Draft for visa fees favouring" VFS LANKA - DUBAI A/C DEUTSCHE BANK
0038943-00-2" payable in Colombo only. - 2 Demand drafts are required in case
of passengers going beyond Dubai and requiring visas on both outbound &
inbound sectors (1 DD for each entry).

02 Passport size photo (4.3cms x 5.5 cms) is required. Pls mention the name and
passport number behind the photographs
Where is the Dubai Visa Application Centre located?
You can submit your application for Dubai Visa at Dubai Visa Application Centre
located at the address below:

Mon-Fri: 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Except Sat: 8.30 a.m. to 12.00 p.m.
The centre would certify the Photocopies of the required original documents and
return the originals on the spot.
What is the visa fee being charged?
For every applicant (including infant, if they are holding seperate passports.
If children are endorsed in the parents' passports, then the charge will be per
passport), the fees at current exchange rates are:
a) Tourist Visa (30 days stay): LKR 8,500
b) 96 Hours Visa (4 days stay): LKR 6,900
The fee amounts are inclusive of everything and are subject to change without
notice.
What happens after Dubai Visa Application Centre receives the visa application?
The response of Dubai Immigration will be entered into the Emirates PNR. Status
on visa applications will be available by the third working day. Please note
that Dubai Immigration is closed on Friday and Saturday.
If I am issued a visa.
If I am issued a visa. Confirmation of visa issue and date of issue will be
entered in the Emirates PNR. The applicant / representative to collect the
printout from Emirates/ Dubai Visa Application centre on showing his/her or the
applicant's passport & original air ticket. DVPC will endorse on the ticket
"DXB VISA APPROVED-TICKET NOT REFUNDABLE UNTILL THE EXPIRY OF THE VISA"
Both the Tourist and 96 hrs' visa expire 58 days from the date of issue. You have
to arrive in Dubai before the expiry of the visa, and leave Dubai within period
of stay authorized.
Please note the following carefully:

You can only arrive and depart from Dubai International Airport

Your flights to/from Dubai must be on Emirates: travel by another airline voids
the visa

Issue of visa does not guarantee entry: that is at the discretion of the
Immigration Officer

There is no refund of visa in any case of inability to use the visa

You are reminded that on event of overstay there is a fine of Dhs. 5000 plus
Dhs. 100 per day of overstay, besides inviting legal action n
If I am refused a visa.
A remark to the effect will be entered in the Emirates PNR. DVPC will endorse
on the ticket "DXB VISA REJECTED". You can make a fresh application after
carefully assessing whether you meet the eligibility conditions. The visa fee
has to be paid again with each new application.
What is the role of VFS and Emirates in the visa application process?
The DVPC has been set up to enhance convenience for Emirates' passengers. The
decision on whether to issue or refuse a visa is the sole prerogative of Dubai
Immigration. VFS and Emirates do not influence Dubai Immigration in any manner,
and cannot make any recommendation for issue of a visa. We would greatly
appreciate your understanding on event Dubai Immigration refuses your visa
